Search Forum Home   Discussions  Meissen Discussion  Neptune and The...  Neptune and Theitus with Tritons    25/02/2008 22:06:04 dicefamily 1 posts Neptune and Theitus with Tritons I finally found my meissen in the book!  Neptune and Theitus with Tritons drawn by seahorses on a base of sea page 30 meissen collectors catalog by Kaendler early 18th century.  It stands over 19 inches tall and is in perfect condition.  Has anyone else seen or have a similar piece.  Any information would be wonderful and I would be happy to share some beautiful pictures.  Another antique dealer stated that she thought it was (Neptune and Amphitrite) Although you don't hear a lot about her she was Neptune's wife and goddess of the sea. She states the blue cross swords have pommels on the bottom so this should place this piece at around 1850-1924.
