Two phone bidders got into a cockfight for a pair of Meissen porcelain tureens and covers in the form of a Paduan cock and a hen with chicks, 1771-75. It was modeled by Johann Joachim Kändler with naturalistic feathers in shades of brown and gray. Estimated at $8000/12,000, the pair sold for $66,000.
